Happy New Year and First Finishes 2011

First let me wish every one a Happy New Year. I hope that all of you and your families had a wonderful Holiday Season.It has been a very long time since I have posted to this blog. I promise to do better this years. I'm trying for at least every two weeks.

While surfing the web and blog sites I can upon the 15 project challenge. I noticed that a lot of people are participating. I will cheer you all on, my congratulations to the person who thought up the challenge and to all the wonderful stitchers that are participating.


It is quite on the crosstitch shops web sites. I guess they are all getting ready for Nashville Market. I'm looking forward to it also.

Visiting and Finishing

I have been visiting many bloggs lately, just checking ou what everybody is stitching. It's amazing the different styles and taste of the stitching blogging community. I enjoy visitng them all. The needle,thread and fabric is a wonderful canvas upon which to create beauty. Many of the designers have their own bloggs.I especially like visiting the Blackbird one. The talent out there is amazing.






Here is my progress of The Riddle. I found the informattion for the stitch along on the Swans website and though to follow the lessions. It was very helpful. Lynn who is an excellent stitcher lead the group last year. You have to be a member to join the group.






While cruising the web I came upon the Dyeing to Stitch website and found this tree with the skirt. I though to use it for my Blackbird Halloween stockings and other halloween ornaments. The tree and skirt came from the same place. They both are very beautiful.






I finished Halloween Spot by the Trilogy. The fabric is what I shall use to finish it, as a small pillow.











I tried my hand at finishing. I love the stockings by Blackbird this is form the April stocking book. The Angel in the picture is our guardian angel. She sit on the coffee table. She is one of the LLADRO pieces save from Katrina.








Last but not least are some of the stockings I have finshed from the Halloweeen stocking book. I have chosen my fabric,now to finish them before Halloween. In the picture are a few of the grouds we purchased for decoration this season.

Hello Again

Sorry friends and visitors long time no post. I have been busy at working, and my blogging mojo has left me. I bought a new car. I love the car hate the monthly note LOL. My last SUV was 15 years and 8 months old. I just have to get use to the car note.

Memorial Day

On this day we would like to THANK all those service men,women and their famalies for their great sacrifices to this country and her citizens.
We are the Land of the FREE because of the BRAVE. One again we say thank you and stay as safe as possible.

Hello eveybody I have been gone for a while but I have been busy. First let me say Happy Mother's Day to all.

These are two pillows I made for my mother but forget to put them in the box. They will have to be shipped later.

The beautiful blogs on the net can be a bad influence. Look what they have done to me. I have purchase many wonderful charts and now need to convert some to NPI. I have more projects than I will do in two life times. They give me pleasure. Somedays I just love to sit in my stash room and go through all my containers. I have been stitiching since the late seventies.

Old Colonial Designs Casket

I have wanted on of these from Sampler Cove published her fist Quaker casket chart. I have three charts for this now.
The Drawn Thread CICI'S SEWING CASKET, Sampler Cove Quaker Casket and Spanish Casket by Wild Hearts Designs. Therefore I splurged and bought the darn thing, now to stich the pieces. Wish me luck I'm gonna need it.

I need to finish these two projects and I'm just lagging around. There is not much to finish. Thanks for the visit ladies and the comments. I love to decorate for the holidays it's the picking up that's the problem. Vonna you will notice we have the same Easter basket. I love Jim Shore.
Patti stuff will be in the mail tomorrow or Monday. Had a little sinus problem that last couple of days. Have a wonderful weekend.

Spring Has Arrived

No stitching today just a few pictures from around the house and yard. My favorite time of the year is fall and winter but spring is beautiful. We have decorated for Easter.

We had a hard time growing these until we read about not getting the tuberances wet. Now the cyclamens are thriving. That is the crown of the plant

Wired Mannequins

I Love these wired mannequins. I use them to hang fobs on. The little one is a new addition.

I have visited many blogs over last few years, and I'm amazed at the very talented people out there. The beautiful things that can be made with needle and thread is astounding. I have made some friend in the blogging community but not half as many as I would like. I would like to thanks all my new friends for visiting and leaving comments.

I have to work for the next three days so my blog time will limited. Everybody have a wonderful few days. Here in Metairie we have had 4 beautiful days. The rain came in this afternoon.
